Chongqing Jiaotong University and Hohai University successfully won the hosting right of the 12th International Conference on Erosion and Scour (ICSE-2025)

On October 20, 2021, Yang Shengfa, the Dean of the College of River and Ocean Engineering of Chongqing Jiaotong University，led a delegation composed of Fu Xuhui and Dr. Zhang Peng to participate in the TC213 Committee meeting of the 10th International Conference on Erosion and Scour held in Washington, USA in the form of network meeting. Associate Professor Fu Xuhui gave a 15-minute report, introducing the plan of the conference co-sponsored by Chongqing Jiaotong University and Hohai University, the characteristics of reservoir bank erosion, Chongqing characteristics and the scientific research background of the two universities. By the vote of 17 members of TC213 Committee and the joint application of Chongqing Jiaotong University and Hohai University. It is confirmed that ICSE-2025 will be held in Chongqing, China from November 3 to 7, 2025.  

The International Conference on Scour and Erosion (ICSE) was founded in 2002 by the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) and administered by its TC213 Committee. So far, it has been held in the United States, Singapore, the Netherlands, Japan, France, Australia, the United Kingdom, Taiwan of China and other countries and regions. It will be held in Washington D.C. in 2021, and the next will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in September 2023. With the help of Dr. Shinji Sassa, the Chairman of TC213 Committee and Director of International Research Center for Coastal Disasters and Marine Facilities in Japan, Professor Zhao Yiming from Nanyang Technological University. With the full cooperation of Professor Guan Dawei from Hohai University, and with the strong support of Professor Wang Duoyin, the Secretary of the College of River and Ocean Engineering, and Professor Yang Shengfa, the Dean of the College of River and Ocean Engineering, ICSE will be held in Mainland China for the first time in November 2025. The conference aims to provide a platform for exchange and discussion among experts and scholars in the field of Scour, Hydraulic Engineering and Disaster Prevention Science and Technology, attracting more than 200 scholars from all over the world to participate in each session.
